iBwave Awarded Silver at National Bank 2014 SME Awards Gala
Montreal-based company marking its 10th anniversary this year, recognized for its export excellence
MONTREAL, CANADA, JUNE 18, 2014 —
iBwave, the world leader in providing in-building wireless networks, proudly announces that it was named Silver recipient in the SME Export category at the “National Bank 2014 SME Awards”. The winners in this recognition program, which has now wrapped up its 20th edition, were announced at an event held in Montreal last Friday, with Louis Vachon, National Bank President and Chief Executive Officer, and a number of players in the business community on hand.
The company, which is no stranger to this award, having won twice before – in 2007 and 2008 – was selected for its drive, its contribution to Quebec’s growth and prosperity, and the know-how amassed by its senior executives.
“All of the nominees and business leaders have been examples of the character, commitment and tenacity it takes to stand out. Once again this year, the nominees and recipients have shown exceptional qualities and served to confirm Quebec’s entrepreneurial wealth,” declared David Pinsonneault, Senior Vice-President – Commercial Banking and International at the National Bank.
“Montreal is recognized as one of North America’s major technology hubs, so we are especially proud of being rewarded in this way for our participation in the region’s economic and technological boom,” declared Mario Bouchard, President and Chief Executive Officer at iBwave. “Innovation has always been the linchpin of our growth and competitiveness strategy… which is why we have, since iBwave was founded in 2003, built a team of highly qualified staff while following a strategic approach aimed at strengthening our presence and developing our activities globally. It has paid off since we are exporting our products, which are now used by the leading operators, system integrators and equipment manufacturers, to over 80 countries worldwide."
The company, which offers integrated solutions that facilitate the design of wireless voice and data communication networks in buildings and public spaces, was able to leverage a rapidly expanding niche market and has quickly made a name for itself as a world leader in its field. In order to better meet demand and be closer to its clients, iBwave grew its workforce in North America considerably before moving on to Europe and the Middle East, as well as the Asia-Pacific zone (especially Southeast Asia, which is now one of the most vibrant regions).
